Herbert Samuel, 1st Viscount Samuel, was a prominent British politician, born in 1870. He held significant leadership positions, notably serving as the leader of the Liberal Party from 1931 to 1935. His involvement in the administration of Palestine led to his appointment as the first High Commissioner for the territory in 1920.
